MN Fury Zurn 15's was in Bloomington this past weekend for the D1 Classic. They started  pool play Friday night with a 22 point win, followed by a 48 point victory Saturday morning to take 1st place in their pool.

Bracket play started Saturday night against Iowa Pump and Run. After a back and forth battle the first ten minutes of the game Fury's backcourt and full court pressure began to impose their will leading to a 14 point halftime lead. Guards Owen Chose, and Alex Strazzanti came out on fire to start the 2nd half allowing Fury to cruise to a 85-52 victory. Strazzanti's ability to dribble penetrate allowed Chose to cash in on a number of perimeter shots on his way to a game high 29 points.

Fury Zurn then faced MN D1 14's in the semifinals. After a close first half, that featured an up tempo pace, came to an end Fury was up 12 points. In the second half Fury began to impose their will inside lead by Dedoch Chan, Zac Olson, and Myles Hanson as they stretched the lead and went on to win 68-39.

This set them up for a championship showdown with Omaha Elite. After taking an early 10 point lead Fury had trouble slowing down the dribble penetration of a long and athletic Omaha team resulting in a 32-30 halftime deficit. Omaha Elite would go on to stretch their second half lead to 10 points before Fury began fighting back. Down 6 points with 4 minutes remaining Fury turned on the full court pressure causing 3 turnovers in a row allowing them to tie it at 59 with 2 minutes left. Lead again by their backcourt duo, and with clutch baskets by Chan down the stretch, Fury was able to squeak out a nail biter and win 63-62 claiming their 1st championship of the year.
