Michael Gutierrez, St. Croix Prep - Macalester

Michael was out this year with an injury, but in 2017 emerged as one of the top players in the MIAC… Led the conference in scoring at 21.6 points per game in earning All-MIAC second team honors… Also paced the MIAC in free throws made (145) and ranked second in three-pointers (72)… Averaged a team-best 3.7 assists per contest… Hit the game-winning three-pointer with 1.0 seconds remaining vs. St. Olaf Feb. 11… Had 37 points and eight threes in that game… Also made eight three-pointers while going 12-of-12 from the free throw line to score a career-high 40 points vs. Hamline Jan. 14… Chosen to the d3hoops.com National Team of the Week on Jan. 17… Scored 26 points in an overtime win over Saint John’s Feb. 13.

Trevor Rothstein, St. Michael-Albertville HS- Minot St.

This year Trevor is averaging 4 PPG with 3 RPG in 15 minutes of action.In 2017 played in 28 games, including six starts for the Beavers...Averaged 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game...Scored double figures in three games, highlighted by career-high 11 points at St. Cloud State (12/30/16)...Recorded career-high nine rebounds at Minnesota Duluth (12/31/16).
 

Chase Knickerbocker, Annandale HS - UM-Crookston 

 Appeared and started in 13 games in his Junior year before a foot injury sidelined him for the season. Before his injury, Chase was averaging 11.0 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game. 2016-17 (Sophomore): Had a break-out season, averaging 11.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game on the season...Was second on the team in scoring with 328 points...Shot 38.5 percent from beyond the arc and 44.7 percent from the field...Tallied career-high 27 points against U-Mary Feb. 18...Notched 24 points on 9-of-14 from the field versus Bemidji State...Had 23 points against Southwest Minnesota State...Notched 21 points against Concordia-St. Paul and 20 points in the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament at Upper Iowa.

Brenon Larson-Gulsvig, Lakeville South HS - Lindenwood 

2016-17- Earned the team’s Heart of a Lion award … ranked 22nd in the MIAA in three-pointers made, 37th in scoring, and 50th in assists … fourth on the team with 9.5 points a game, and third with 41 made three-pointers … recorded 32 assists and 11 steals, and had a 1.38 assist-to-turnover ratio … shot 45.8 percent from the field, 43.6 percent from three-point range, and 80.3 percent from the free-throw line … a perfect 10-of-10 at the free-throw line in the final two minutes of regulation and during overtime … averaged 10.3 points and 2.2 rebounds a game in MIAA play … had 11 double-figure scoring games, two double-figure rebounding games, and one double-double … led the team in scoring twice, in assists four times, and in steals four times … had three games with over 20 points, including season-highs of 22 points versus Minnesota Duluth and Pittsburg State … shot 60 percent or better from the field in both of those games … had 10 rebounds in back-to-back games against Robert Morris-Springfield and Brescia … made five three-pointers in a game two times, including a perfect five-of-five against Missouri Southern … had a season-high four assists in three games, and had a season-high three steals versus Central Oklahoma … named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Bryndan Mathews, Eagan HS - Concordia St. Paul

Bryndan averaged 17 PPG to go along with 7RPG in 35 minutes of action for the Bears in 2017-2018 In 2016-17: Played in all 31 games while making 29 starts for the Golden Bears ... led the team in total minutes (1,007), minutes per game (32.5), field goals made (169), field goals attempted (322), free-throws made (111), free throws attempted (163), offensive rebounds (59), defensive rebounds (178), total rebounds (237), rebounds per game (7.6), steals (44), total points (475) and points per game (15.3) ... ranked 18th in the NSIC in points per game, fifth in rebounds per game, 11th in field goal percentage, fifth in steals per game (1.4), and 13th in minutes played per game … scored in double digits in 28 games … scored a career-high 24 points against Sioux Falls on Feb. 17 while shooting 7-13 from the field … recorded six double-doubles on the year … grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds and scored 23 points against Winona State on Dec. 10 … recorded back-to-back double-doubles at Winona State (Feb. 10) with 17 points and 10 rebounds and at Upper Iowa (Feb. 11) with 18 points and 11 rebounds … dished out a career-high, seven assists against Southwest Minnesota State (Feb. 18) and against Augsburg (Nov. 22) … currently ranks second in program history in career defensive rebounds per game with 4.8 … ranks fifth all-time in career rebounding average at 6.6 and minutes average with 31.4.

Logan Halvorson, Rosemount HS - U of Wisconsin - River Falls

In his junior campaign Logan scored 2 PPG  in 6 minutes of action for the Falcons. Career Highs - Points: 8 vs. St. Olaf, Nov. 21, 2015 & vs. Anderson, Dec. 30, 2015 Rebounds: 4 vs. Bethel, Nov. 17, 2015 & vs. Superior, Nov. 20, 2015 Assists: 5 vs. Hamline, Dec. 5, 2015 Steals: 4 vs. Concordia-Wisconsin, Nov. 14, 2015.

Sam Skoyen, Hastings HS - U of Wisconsin La Crosse

 Played in 17 games with eight starts ... Averaged 4.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per game ... Scored in double figures in three games … Career-high 12 points vs. Lakeland University, Wis. (Nov. 17) and Webster University, Mo. (Nov. 25) … Finished with 11 points vs. MacMurray College (Ill.) … Career-high six rebounds vs. Webster, Mo. (Nov. 25) … Shot 40.6% (13-of-32) from three-point range and 85.7% (12-of-14) at free throw line.

Kevin McKiernan, Prior Lake HS - Augsburg University

Kevin, and Augsburg just clinched the 2018 MIAC postseason championship. In 2018 he averaged 12 PPG in 31 minutes while shooting high percentages across the board. In 2017 played in all 26 games, starting 12... Finished second on the team with 95 field goals (45.4% FG Pct), 44 three-point field goals (39.3% FG Pct), and 83 free-throws (84.7% FT Pct)... Was second on the team with 100 rebounds... Finished third on the team with 63 assists... Recorded 317 points.

Ryan Kaczynski, Mounds View HS - U of M - Duluth

Averaged 3 PPG along with 2RPG in 15 minutes of action for the Bulldogs, while also starting 2 games this season. Duluth just wrapped up the NSIC tournament, finishing the year 12-18. In 2016-17 (Sophomore) Took the court in 25 games while picking up four starts • notched a career-high 11 points and five assists against Upper Iowa • posted a 2.1 assist-to-turnover ratio while averaging 14.9 minutes per game • scored points in nine games over a ten game stretch from 12/10/16-1/14/17.
2015-16 (Freshman) Appeared in 10 games in a reserve role during his first collegiate go-around, averaging 3.1 minutes • made his collegiate debut at Central Missouri on Nov. 13 • scored a season-high three points against Wisconsin-Superior on Jan. 6 • scored at least two points in three straight games Jan. 6-16 • grabbed three rebounds at No. 4 MSU Moorhead on Dec. 12.

Austin Heidecker, Prior Lake HS - U of Wisconson River Falls

In 2018 averaged 6 PPG and 4RPG in 15 minutes of action on a nightly basis. Notched a career high 17 points in a game earlier this year against WI Superior. Also named a member of the Honor Roll.
